Geneva, Switzerland

(please excuse any typos---the swiss keyboard is a little tricky)

So it seems I have gotten my feet back under me. I sent what I thought to be a rather frazzled email this morning, but after waundering around this city, I feel much better about things. This is easily one of the most impacting cities I have ever walked thru. I cannot even do justice to its beauty, its essence, the multi-cultuarlism going on here, even the peacefulness of it all. It's humbling to even walk amongst it all. Maybe that is why training is here.

I grabbed a sandwich, banana, and grapefruit juice from a grocer and picked my way thru the height of the buildings and found the water this afternoon. Lac Leman (I think that is the name) is beautiful as it divides the city. I sat at the edge of the water, with a lush green park to my back, and stared out across the water. I sat there watching the sailboats go by in front of me as the air was filled with the school children playing and yelling in French right behind me. The other half of the city is engrossed by the mountains which stand tall and upright behind it. Just truly memorizing and rather peaceful. I ran thru a roll of film this afternoon with ease.

The walk along the water was full of a display of UN human rights articles and pictures from around the world. To the left was the water, numerous different bodies out catching the sun, boats and the other half of the city surrounded by the mountains. To the left was the centre of city, traffic, gorgeous architecture (sp?) seen in numerous building, UN articles and photos from around the world, and tourists taking it all in. I just walked along, not saying anything but rather in awe of it all. It just has a different feel than other cities--- can't put my finger on it just yet, but I like the feeling the city gives off.

Off to meet Nadine...
